Glen Tickle’s Day Off.

I had the day off so I spent most of it out searching for bow ties. I finally found a store that carried them, but they were all upwards of $50. Fail. The rest of my day was spent repeatedly voting for my dog, Elvis Costello, on Glamour’s website. My wife reads their Little Miss Fortune blog and sent in a picture of Elvis for a poll they’re doing about pet insurance. He’s currently in 2nd place in the “Cutest Reader Pet” poll behind someĀ  stupid dog named Larry. Larry isn’t cute at all, and in fact I think I hate him.

If you have a second go vote for Elvis on the Little Miss Fortune blog so he can have bragging rights at the dog park this weekend.

I’ve been asked by a few of you if I plan on putting a suit on Elvis. Why you’ve asked me that, I’m not sure. But simply put; No. As excited as I am to be getting a dog I have no intention of turning him or myself into an asinine spectacle.

While I did once put a pair of underpants on my parents’ dog Doodles and put her tail through the weiner-flap (yep, weiner-flap) and laughed about it for a few hours that’s really the extent to which I’ve dressed up a dog.

So in conclusion, dressing a dog in people clothes is silly. However, accessorizing is acceptable. It might not be out of the question to see him in a tie every once in a while, especially on Sinatra Night, where he will be clearly be sporting a bow tie. Elvis is a classy guy.

That’s Elvis. A friend of my mom has to get rid of him because she got a new job and isn’t around to take care of him anymore. Solution? I’m taking him! Yay! After many long discussions/arguments with the wife she came on board with the idea and soon he will come live with us.

A few people have asked if I have plans to change his name. I do not. I will, however, tell people he’s named after Elvis Costello rather than Prestley.
